And if you're in a spot where power is hard to come by, you can hook up an optional solar kit (compatible with an 80-watt panel) to keep the battery topped up without any fuss.
One of the things that sets this unit apart is the digital display. It shows your output voltage, earth condition, joules, and amps all at once, no toggling between screens. You can see right away if something's off with your fence or your earth system without wasting time out in the field.
The built-in earth monitor is a handy feature too, letting you keep tabs on your earthing setup so you're not chasing ghost faults across the property.
The MB-1060R has an auto power boost function that reads your fence and automatically cranks up the energy when it's needed, like when weeds are loading up the line. You've got three power levels to choose from (low, medium, and high, up to 9.9kV) and 13 pulse speed settings ranging from 1.2 to 2.4 seconds, so you can dial it in for your setup.
There's also a built-in alarm that sounds an internal buzzer if your fence voltage dips below a level you set, anywhere between 2 and 6kV. You'll know there's a problem before the stock figure it out.
The enclosure is sealed with an O-ring, so dust, moisture, and whatever else the day throws at it won't get in and cause problems. This is a unit designed to sit outside and work, not one you need to coddle.
If you want to be able to turn the energiser on or off and check the voltage without walking back to the unit, the MB-1060R is remote-ready. The optional ERC-2 remote lets you do exactly that, keeping the output at up to 8.3kV (no load) and around 6.4kV at 250 ohms, right from a distance.
And if the battery starts running low, the auto battery save function kicks in automatically, dropping the output to low and pushing the pulse rate to maximum to stretch what's left as far as it can go.
